Designed for early career artists aged 18+, this scheme is both a development programme and a creative community.

Led by dance artist Sarah Blanc, The Lab brings together artists, creatives, mentors and sector professionals in a year-round programme of online and in-person opportunities.

For The Lab, early career means being in the earlier stages of developing a professional artistic practice, profile or pathway in dance. It is not defined by age, years of experience or a particular training route, recognising that artists’ journeys are different and can be shaped by disability-related and structural barriers.

For just £5 per month, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop your creative and choreographic practice.
  • Gain practical insight into working in the dance sector.
  • Build professional networks and connections.
  • Share practice and learn alongside a peer community.
  • Help shape the future of The Lab through feedback, evaluation, focus groups and co-design conversations.
