Sarah Blanc (she/her)
Sarah Blanc is an Irish choreographer, performer and director based in London, and Artistic Director of Moxie Brawl — a spicy inclusive dance theatre company making work that your mum would love.
Moxie Brawl’s award-winning performances have been described as ‘gloriously shambolic’, ‘wholly absorbing’ and a ‘riotous celebration of nonconformity and individuality’. Their work Punk Alley toured to almost 30 venues across the UK and Ireland over three years, completing its tour in 2025.
Sarah’s practice is playful, socially engaged and politically driven, using dance theatre to explore personal stories, social histories and the things we don’t always know how to talk about. She is interested in finding unexpected ways into movement, storytelling and performance, and in making work that can be both politically sharp and genuinely entertaining. She is currently developing Cheer Up, a new show about mental health for young people, and Council Estate Princess, a solo work about growing up ‘Proddy’ on an Irish Catholic council estate.
Sarah is a long-term collaborator with artist Dan Daw, working across Dan Daw Creative Projects on projects including The Dan Daw Show, EXXY and Building Better Worlds. She has also been a long-term collaborator with Bryony Kimmings, working on projects including Bog Witch, I’m a Phoenix, Bitch, Opera Mums and The Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer with Complicité. Her wider credits include work with Xnthony Ltd, Southbank Centre, Royal Opera House, Z-arts, Spark Arts, All Change, GOSH Arts, Candoco Dance Company and The Place.
