Candoco’s Teacher Training programmes are designed for dance educators and practitioners who want to build spaces for dance where everyone is genuinely welcomed and where individual difference is celebrated, not just accommodated.

Rooted in our unique methodology, these sessions go beyond theory, offering practical tools, embodied learning and space for reflection. Participants gain strategies they can immediately apply within their own teaching contexts.

Our approach is shaped by over 30 years of artistic and pedagogical practice, working across professional, community and educational settings worldwide.

“It made me rethink how to introduce creative tasks in a way that feels accessible and supportive for everyone.” Teacher Training Participant

What shapes our approach

  • A methodology developed through sustained practice with disabled and non-disabled artists
  • A creative approach to teaching, rooted in access and inclusion
  • Led by experienced Candoco Teaching Artists, both disabled and non-disabled
  • Practical, movement-led learning alongside space for reflection and exchange
  • Tools and approaches that can be adapted across a wide range of teaching and creative contexts

“I’m leaving with practical tools I can apply immediately—thinking about barriers, using more inclusive language, and planning more creatively.” Teacher Training Participant

Candoco offers both bespoke Teacher Training programmes for organisations, universities and companies, delivered in the UK and internationally, and in-house teacher training (dates in Autumn 2026 will be on sale soon).
