These sessions introduce creative dance which utilises Candoco’s inclusive methodology. Sessions are focused on creativity, collaboration and exploration.

Dance Workshop (90–120 mins)

This practical workshop introduces participants to the core principles of inclusive dance practice through creative exploration and guided creative tasks. Led by Candoco Teaching Artists, the session invites participants to experience inclusive practice in action – exploring how tasks can be adapted, expanded and reimagined to support a wide range of bodies, experiences and ways of moving.

Through a combination of improvisation and structured tasks, participants are encouraged to develop greater awareness of access, communication and collaboration within dance. The workshop supports participants to build confidence, challenge assumptions and discover new creative approaches, offering tools and ideas that can be applied within educational, community or professional contexts.

Creative Residencies

For deeper engagement, we offer residencies that allow participants to develop their creative and dance practice over a longer period of time.

In addition to the dance workshops as above, residencies may include:

  • Focus on creative development and skills in choreography
  • Co-creation of a dance piece
  • Sharing or formal/informal performance outcomes

All workshops and residencies can be adapted to suit different contexts, access needs and participant groups.

Get in touch to find out more about the programme, book a workshop, or to design a programme that responds to your context, participants and ambitions.
