Candoco is the sum of many parts. The individuals that make up our Staff and Board are essential to ensure the smooth running of the company.

We might be a small team but we make a big impact. Bringing skills from a variety of industries and backgrounds, the Staff and Board at Candoco is a devoted group of individuals committed to making excellent productions and learning experiences. The team is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our audiences and participants and  providing a safe and comfortable environment in which our dancers and artists can work.

Ellie Douglas-Allan

Senior Producer

Ellie joined Candoco in 2016 and as Senior Producer. She plays a key role in developing and delivering Candoco’s programme of work. Ellie previously held producing roles at Studio Wayne McGregor and the British Council’s Theatre and Dance Department.

Georgia Kersh

Producer

Georgia joined Candoco in 2018 and as Producer develops Candoco’s programme of work for the main company and the smaller works programme, including touring activity. Georgia previously worked in the Sadler’s Wells Producing and Touring team.

Susanna Recchia

Research & Rehearsal Director

Susanna has worked with Candoco since 2010: as a dancer between 2012 and 2014 (performing works by Marc Brew, Trisha Brown, Claire Cunningham, Emanuel Gat, Thomas Hauert, Wendy Houston, Rachid Ouramdane), as a teacher, and in her current role since 2018.

Joanne Lyons

General Manager

Joanne joined Candoco in 2008. While her responsibilities are ever-evolving with the changing needs of the company over the years, her role remains as it always has been: to help ensure the company as a whole is functioning effectively and happily.

Liz Charman

Head of Finance

Liz has a background in dance and has worked in a variety of roles and companies. For Candoco, she manages all aspects of the company’s financial responsibilities and, together with the Executive team, ensures the financial sustainability of the company.

Lucy Fox

Head of Communications

With a background in branding and design, Lucy joined Candoco in 2015 to take care of our communications. She’s the person to call for press, social media and marketing related enquiries.

Phil Webb

Production Manager

Phil joined Candoco in 2018 after spending 11 years in teaching. His job is to bring all the technical aspects of the show together, from transporting the set to relighting the work on stage.

Emily Robinson

Project Manager

Emily is a dance practitioner who is working with Candoco on an interim basis until December 2019. Emily works part time in the Learning team and is the person to contact for enquiries on Cando2 and outreach projects.

Natasha Wort

Administrator

Tash previously worked as a campaigner in the non-profit sector and also studied dance. She joined Candoco in summer 2019 to support with administration, finance and communications.

Lydia Heath

Intern

Lydia is studying Ba (Hons) Dance at the University of Surrey - Guildford School of Acting. She is currently on her placement year with the company until the end of Spring 2020.

Fern Potter

Chair

Fern joined Candoco’s Board in 2016 and became Chair in 2018. Fern’s expertise is in the area of fundraising and development, having raised millions for various arts organisations, primarily dance over more than 20 years. She was most recently Director of Development for Birmingham Royal Ballet, and continues her passion to share her expertise with others through her freelance training and development work.

Alyssa Bonic

Board Member

Alyssa Bonic joined the Board in 2014. Alyssa is Head of Creative Industries at Digital Catapult, the UK’s leading advanced digital technology innovation centre.  She was previously Head of Business Development at English National Ballet as well as heading up BSkyB’s arts sponsorship strategy.

Cressida Day

Board Member

Cressida joined the Board of Candoco in 2015.  She is Managing Director of Artangel, which commissions extraordinary art in unexpected places.

Scilla Dyke

Board Member

Scilla Dyke is an independent dance artist, choreographer, curator, professor, author and campaigner for dancers health and wellbeing. She was awarded an MBE for Services to Dance; an Honorary Doctorate from the University of East Anglia, an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University and an Honorary People Dancing’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kimberley Harvey

Board Member

Kimberley Harvey is a performer, choreographer and teacher. She has been a Candoco Artist since 2010 which has involved working as a teacher and a dancer, such as performing at the London 2012 Paralympic Closing Ceremony. Kimberley's relationship with Candoco began in 2000 as a founding member of the youth company, Cando2.

Henrietta Irving

Board Member

Henrietta joined the Candoco board in 2019.  She is also a trustee of the John Laing Pension Fund and a director of Raven Housing Trust.  She is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.

Shivanti Lowton

Board Member

Shivanti Lowton is an academic at the University of East London and has held various leadership roles in dance education. She is an enthusiastic supporter of community dance and is dedicated to the Widening Participation Agenda for Arts Education in the UK.

Charlotte Waelde

Board Member

Charlotte was appointed as a trustee of Candoco in 2018. She has a legal background, and is currently a professor in the Centre for Dance Research at Coventry University. Her work as trustee includes helping the executive office holders think through the approach of Candoco to intellectual property in its relations with third parties.

Nelson Abbey

Board Member

Nelson Abbey joined the Board of Trustees in 2018. He is a media executive and writer based in London.
