Lucie Mirkova (she/her)
I’m an arts manager, programmer and curator with over twenty years’ experience in dance and performance, including leading artistic programmes and Birmingham International Dance Festival at DanceXchange.
Alongside my professional practice, my academic work deepened my interest in leadership—shifting my focus from programming towards exploring how we create environments where people can truly thrive through sustainable, ethical and more equitable ways of working in our sector. This continues to shape how I think about strategy, learning and organisational development.
I am committed to access and equity in my work, and to supporting disabled-led practice and leadership across the dance sector. I’m particularly interested in creating space for artist development, and for new ideas and innovation to emerge. Alongside my role at Candoco, I am Chair of the Board at Dancefest, a community dance charity.

One thing you should know about me is…
I am new proud dog mum, I love making things (especially silver jewellery), and I’m often told I look slightly confused—even when I know exactly what I’m doing.
