You And I Know

By Arlene Phillips
2016
Choreographer Arlene Phillips, whose work includes collaborations with iconic artists Whitney Houston and Tina Turner to Queen and Duran Duran brings You and I Know, featuring Candoco dancers Joel Brown and Laura Patay.

From the ballroom to the Brit Awards, Arlene Phillips has been a trailblazer in choreographing for popular dance genres for over 40 years. We are delighted to have commissioned Phillips to collaborate with Candoco dancers, Joel Brown and Laura Patay, in a romantic duet told through a series of vignettes set across time.

Danced with passion and sensitivity to a collection of pop songs, Joel and Laura offer audiences a potent and emotive exploration of how we fall in and out of love over and over again, often with the same person.

Love is an emotion we can all identify with and in this duet we will be inviting the audience to explore its complexities and how our daily routines can sometimes shape our relationships.

You and I Know will throw out the rule book and inspire audiences around who can dance and what dance can be.
