James Olivo

James Olivo is a freelance Dance Artist dedicated to developing and exploring his own style of movement and expression - seamlessly blending elements from contemporary dance, with influences from hip-hop battle scenes, cultures, and communities worldwide.

James was in the National Youth Dance Company (NYDC) from 2012 to 2014 and graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) in 2017.

As a freelance Dance Artist and lecturer at the London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS), James has taught workshops across Europe and worked with notable artists such as FKA Twigs. His work includes commercial collaborations with Hania Rani, Saul Nash, Ray-Ban, IKEA, Beyoncé’s ‘Black is King’ film, and ‘The Marvels’ film. In the contemporary theatre scene, James worked with Bullyache, Trashdollys, Jason Mabana, James Cousins, Hannes Langolf, Jasmin Vardimon, and Akram Khan.
