Tricia Arthur-Stubbs

She trained in contemporary dance at Bretton Hall, University of Leeds, and has worked extensively as a professional dancer and dance practitioner, with a particular specialism in carnival dance and inclusive practice.

Her work is rooted in a belief that dance should be accessible, representative and connected to the communities it serves. As a neurodivergent, dyslexic practitioner, Tricia brings lived experience of navigating barriers within the arts and a strong commitment to creating more inclusive ways of working.

Tricia is the founder and director of Black Roots and Voices Expressed Festival aka BRAVE Festival, which is based in Bradford and celebrates arts that originated in Black culture through performances and workshops.

Her wider sector leadership includes leading the Black Led Arts Network, serving on the Artist Advisory Board for Yorkshire Dance, and recently becoming a Co-Director of Bradford Cultural Voice Forum, where she is helping to shape the organisation’s next phase as a CIC and amplify the voices of artists.
