3 x 3 Dance Project
2022 - 2023
Funded by British Council's International Collaboration Grants, 3 x 3 is a creation project between partners Candoco Dance Company (UK), Arada Association (Turkey), and Unbeaten Path (Ukraine).
After a year of online planning, 20 artists from across the 3 partner companies finally came together in person in London at the end of 2022 for the first of 3 week-long international residencies.
The world is a different place now to a year ago, when our collaboration began. Together we have navigated extraordinary circumstances to reach this point and we are thankful for every person involved. To finally have a connection in person, beyond Zoom and the looming challenges, has elevated this project higher in our hearts than any of us imagined.
At the end of January 2023, we arrived in Istanbul to meet our partners for the second residency of the 3 x 3 project. Having met and had the opportunity to get to know each other better through the first week in London, our focus now is on creating, working and planning for the future of this incredible project.
While challenges continue to arise, having the opportunity to work creatively in this beautiful city has allowed us to re-establish the purpose of this project and how we want to share our experiences with the world.
With the knowledge and learning from our first two residencies front of mind, we are now eagerly planning our final residency in Poland, where we will be hosted by Unbeaten Path.
