Online Adult Class 2024

Wed 5 Jun – Wed 10 Jul
Join our weekly online dance class led by our new Co-Artistic Directors, Raquel Meseguer Zafe and Dominic Mitchell. This class is suitable for beginners (disabled and non-disabled) as well as those with more experience.

What to expect from our adult dance class:

  • Sessions led by one of our Co-Artistic Directors
  • Flexible and supportive environment
  • Class is taught in spoken English and written English (via captioning and the online chat box)
  • You can expect dance classes integrating contemporary/modern dance principles, mindfulness, and improvisation. These are inclusive sessions, influenced by crip practice* and the Dunham technique*.

*Crip Practice: Some classes will incorporate crip practice, which are practices evolved from the knowledge and lived experience of disability. In Raquel’s classes, participants can expect to work with qualities, improvisation tasks and improvisation scores. Raquel also works with ideas of ‘rest’, ‘support’ and mindful movement.

*Dunham Technique: Some classes will combine elements of the Dunham technique in an accessible and inclusive way. Dunham technique is influenced by movement practices from the Caribbean. The Dunham technique was created by dance anthropologist Katherine Dunham. In Dominic’s classes, participants will experience Caribbean music and improvisational movement tasks.
