Jay Yule
Candoco Teaching Artist
Jay works as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. Jay fosters inclusivity into the way they create, making art which can be viewed by anyone with the hope of imparting a sense of activism from watching.
They work regularly with artists Jo Fong, Marisa Carnesky, J Neve Harrington, Sarah Blanc and Sarah Fahie performing in a variety of venues from the Royal Opera House mainstage to the sticky floors of the Dalston queer club circuit. They have performed throughout the UK, France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands and in disciplines across clowning, puppetry, drag and immersive theatre. They have worked a support and teaching assistant with a number of organisations including Candoco Dance Company, The Royal Ballet School and Scottish Dance Theatre. Their practice is existential in nature and draws from the experience of being queer and non-binary.
