Candoco Dance Company Announces Leadership Transition

Candoco Dance Company
Candoco Dance Company announces that Co-Artistic Directors Raquel Meseguer Zafe and Dominic Mitchell have concluded their tenure with the company.

During their time with Candoco, Raquel and Dominic championed disabled leadership and brought fresh perspectives to the company’s artistic vision. Their collaboration with Dan Daw Creative Projects on Candoco’s current show Over and Over (and over again) exemplifies their commitment to centring disabled artists’ lived experiences in contemporary dance.

“We’re grateful for Raquel and Dominic’s contributions to Candoco’s artistic and inclusion journey,” said Sharon Watson, Chair of Candoco’s Board. “Their vision for disabled leadership continues to influence our thinking as we plan for the future and our commitment to creating more opportunities for disabled artists and creatives.”

Candoco remains committed to its founding mission of expanding perceptions of what dance can be through bold performances and inspiring educational experiences that embody equity and intersectional inclusion. The company is developing a structure to ensure its long-term sustainability and will announce its artistic leadership plans in due course.
