Candoco brings a double bill of dramatic and powerful choreography kicking off the performance programme of this year’s SICK Festival at The Lowry.
Yasmeen Godder’s Face In, set to an urban indie score, is a sensual ode to intimacy and imagination expressed through daring and uninhibited dance. This is a visually arresting performance that invites audiences to consider contemporary dance in bold new ways. Visual artist Hetain Patel’s critically acclaimed Let’s Talk About Dis is a playful and intimate piece, it exposes hidden prejudices and misplaced political correctness with seductive charm.
Face In is co-commissioned by Festival Oriente Occidente and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance
Let’s Talk About Dis is funded by Cockayne Foundation – Grants for the Arts and the London Community Foundation and co-commissioned by ArtsDepot
THIS PERFORMANCE IS SUITABLE FOR DEAF AND HARD-OF-HEARING
Please be aware that the Quays Theatre is on the far side of The Lowry’s building. After entering the main doors to the foyer, you should allow time to walk to the Quays Theatre before the show begins, especially if you have mobility difficulties. There are no stairs to negotiate, but there is a long sloping ramp, and wheelchairs are available to borrow if needed.
You can familiarise yourself with the building in advance using the Lowry's virtual tour https://thelowry.com/visit-us/access/
