New duet by Tom Roden

In the studio with dancers Annie Edwards and Jemima Hoadley

Our repertoire of duets continues to grow this year as we collaborate with New Art Club's Tom Roden.

Tom Roden draws on his experience across art-form as theatre-maker, comedian, choreographer and dancer in his beautiful new duet for Candoco. This is a piece that promises to make us laugh a lot and maybe even shed a tear too. In his guise as comedian, Tom is particularly keen to play with archetypes - he enjoys usurping people's expectations and encouraging audiences to question the way they perceive the world.

In the studio, Tom is using stand-up comedy to establish the relationship between dancers Annie Edwards and Jemima Hoadley and to create an extensive range of movement material around numerous ideas. It's a fascinating process that is set to become a striking, impassioned and very funny piece of work. We can't wait to share it with audiences this summer.
