CHRISTOPHER OWEN

Christopher is a dance artist and musician based in the UK. After completing his training at NSCD and LCDT, he went on to work for leading British contemporary dance and theatre companies including: The National Dance Company of Wales, Scottish Dance Theatre, Candoco Dance Company and National Theatre of Scotland. He continues to work as a performer for Mirjam Gurtner, Willi Dorner, Joe Moran (Dance Art Foundation) and Dan Daw.

Alongside performing, Christopher also creates contemporary work under the company name Empathic Futures. The companies work focuses on encouraging a new perspective on how we continue to live together as a community, to imagine a future in which empathic communication between humans is possible. His choreographic work to date include; Northern Souls, Space is only Noise, The Creative Act, Water Walk (John Cage), Broken Fall Organic and In The Shadow of the Penis.

Christopher is an associate artist for Candoco Dance Company and a member of the educational team for the Russell Maliphant Company.
